Taking Charge of Your Health
Believe it or not, you are in charge of your health! Doctor's cannot force you to be healthy or follow recommendations they set out for you. Today, we have so much information where we have to make an informed decision based on information given and gathered. If you are given a diagnosis and a treatment plan for a certain condition, it is your responsibility to make the best decision for your health. With the internet access that we have today, the information can be overwhelming; nonetheless, you have to review what is before you or you may end up paying for it later (e.g. Young girl and Gardasil). I am not taking the duty of a physician away at all. Doctor's still have to present everything that they know to you so that you can make an informed decision in your health. YOU have to take charge of your health. YOU should not sit back and just conform to what you have. If you are given a diagnosis of Crohn's disease for example, you have to take charge and discover what treatments are available to you! Using our example, Crohn's disease is an inflammatory condition of the large intestine. Most treatment options consist of anti-inflammatory drugs, remicade, antibiotics, steroids, anti-diarrheals, and surgery. However, there are great holistic alternatives with little to no side effects. For example, probiotics to re-establish the bowel flora and kill pathogenic bacteria and yeast. L-glutamine to repair and rebuild the gut. Digestive enzymes to aid in digestion and assimilation of foods for easier elimination. Natural anti-inflammatory agents in food and supplementation. I have just mentioned a couple of natural nutritional agents that work well with this particular disease. Furthermore, I did not even mention the benefit that structural care, detoxification, emotional release, and addressing allergies/sensitivities would have on Crohn's disease. Now I never treat any one particular disease, I just treat the person, who just so happens to have a disease or condition. My point here is this: You can either sit back and let the condition consume you or you can take charge and get your health back! I believe more people are not settling for what diagnosis has been given to them. I believe more people are exploring natural treatments for conditions that medicine once monopolized. Next time you are given a diagnosis or are feeling bad more than you feel good, TAKE CHARGE! I encourage you to explore natural options that may work even better than prescriptions. Your success in natural alternative treatments improve exponentially if you follow what is recommended (as with any treatment option, but you have to be get all perspectives and make a decision). To obtain wellness, you must be educated on prevention, proactive in your health, and open to lifestyle changes. You have the power to make the change and take charge! It's Your Body, Your Health, Your Choice! If you don't know where to start, give me a call!
